Pull up a chair and grab a cup of coffee. You are so welcome here.

Welcome

Hi. I’m Sarah. Welcome to the Nest in the West! If you were to pop into our house on an average Tuesday you’d probably find me hovering over the cheese pot with a loaf of sourdough in the oven, yogurt culturing on the counter, and teaching a math lesson to my girls with the toddler underfoot. My dear husband is a headmaster at a local charter school and spends his evenings and weekends milking goats, butchering chickens, fixing fences, and generally keeping our little desert homestead afloat. It’s a full-to-bursting sort of life we have built here, and we wouldn’t have it any other way.

So welcome to my little corner of the internet! Here you’ll find farm-fresh recipes, blog posts on keeping goats and dairy processing, and my new goats milk cheesemaking course, all tied up together with the bits and scraps of our everyday homesteading life.

You are so welcome here.

Beyond Chèvre

Beyond Chèvre Course

This course is not about making fancy cheeses, or even about making the very best possible cheeses, but it IS about filling your fridge with the abundance you already have at your disposal.
